Parallel to his ongoing work with AE (Sonig), this solo project is perhaps moving Sharpley towards initiating another groundbreaking genre of live performance.

Elmapi is an electro-pop performer from Paris on the new French electro-pop label Lentonia Records. Her most recent album "Arcane Electronique" (mixed by Andy Moor of the Ex) has been lauded as a hypnotizing mix between "Stereolab and Ming which makes the head spin"- Abus Dangereux. Her highly unique style has recently been joined on stage by the vampler Matterlink who plays shots from b-movies with the original sounds attached (www.vampler.net/matterlink). Recent concerts of the duo have been explosive and dynamic pop performances, alternating between her driving "pop-concrete" compositions of Elmapi and the sampled sounds/voices from Matterlink's "live cinema".

The Latin palindrome means "We turn in the night, consumed by fire" and is the title of Guy Debord's last film. For this occasion we have prepared an English language voiceover from the translation of the film script by Ken Knabb. The purpose of this is for non French speakers to be able to appreciate Debord's complex montage in counterpoint to his narration of a life led among compatriots both in the vanguard and at the margins of culture.

Isidore Isou (January 31, 1925 – July 28, 2007), born Ioan-Isidor Goldstein, was a Romanian-born French poet, film critic and visual artist. He was the founder of Lettrism, an art and literary movement which owed inspiration to Dada and Surrealism.
This experimental film ("Venom and Eternity") by Isidore Isou constitutes the Letterist manifesto of film. Rejecting film conventions by 'chiseling' away at them, Isou introduced several new concepts, including discrepancy cinema where the sound track has nothing to do with the visual track. In addition, the celluloid itself was attacked with destructive techniques such as scratches and washing it in bleach. Causing a scandal at the 1951 Cannes Film Festival, this film was later introduced in the United States where it influenced avant-garde film makers such as Stan Brakhage.

Chris Marker's Le fond de l'air est rouge (A Grin Without a Cat) is a three-hour documentary about the rise and fall of the New Left movement that emerged after the Vietnam War. Even though all Marker did was to edit the footage that he found, most of which shot by anonymous cameraman, he creates a very personal film. Unlike the ones in many other documentaries shown in History Channel or in theatres, images in A Grin Without a Cat do not pretend to present "a historical reality". Marker understands that the truth and memories cannot be represented in their totality on the screen and therefore prefers to use them as poets use words, to create a new reality beyond the political agendas or convictions.

"Yeldham's live performance consists of grinding his face into a sheet of mic'd up plate glass. It is hideous for a variety of reasons. One is that the transparency of the glass means you get to view his face all squished up against the other side of the glass like a kid on a special bus wiping his nose down the window as you overtake them on the motorway. Another reason is the sound really is quite nasty. The resonant properties of the glass means as he yells onto/into it and then pulls and squeezes at the sheet, the pitch of his voice wildly varies and wavers and this in turn is run through some truly ugly processing that makes it sound like a Dalek in it's death throes."

A band who have pretty much existed in obscurity since 1980, See kids, it’s not all about being fucking ‘signed’ and developed’ and being chased around by A&R bozos and begin adored and accepted into club NME and making pretentious pouty videos and selling 16 sqajjillion stupid records. It’s about making music and enjoying it and whatever happens. Fuck’s sake. Guitar, drums, and sax. Yep sax, but used in a minimal way that adds nicely to the whole thing. Also kind of reminds me of a more addressive Kleenex.
